In order to address the human resources needs of local footwear production sector, PFMA with the support of GIZ and PVTC has developed a complete qualification on competency based training (CBT) approach titled “Shoe Technician Course (Cut to Pack)” , so that shortage of skilled workforce in different areas of footwear production can be catered for. This complete qualification would comprise of several short courses / modules for different footwear production related processes i.e. cutting, stitching, quality checks, lasting, moulding, hand stitching, Production line Management, Soft skills, IT and Work ethics etc. The course will have National Vocational Certificate Level 4 in (Footwear Manufacturing Technology Shoe Technician). Following are the salient features of the course :
a. Dates / Duration – Starting from first week of Sep 2018 (one year duration).
b. Theory on Each Friday & Saturday (under PVTC)
(1) 25 Students batch at PVTC Kot Lakhpat, Lahore.
(2) 25 students batch at PVTC Hospital Road Sheikhupura.
c. Practical Training on Each Monday – Thursday. At respective factories
according to factory timings.
d. Incentive to Trainees.
Employing companies will pay Stipend @ Rs. 9,000 per month to each student
and Rs. 1,000/- to PFMA as management fee.

f. Maintenance of Log Book
A log book will be maintained by each student on daily basis. The Log Book is
the report of all what a student has done and learnt in the enterprise. Each
student will fill in his daily tasks and hand over the log book to the instructor
on weekly basis.
g. The student so trained will be competent in the following :-
(1) Develop Professionalism.
(2) Perform Manipulation / Cutting Operations.
(3) Prepare Molded Outsole
(4) Perform Insole Making.
