1.      Representations to the Government

To continue approaching our government for providing adequate subsidies like Duty Drawbacks, R&D Support etc to the local manufacturers so that the exports can flourish and earn valuable foreign exchange for Pakistan. Some far eastern countries are already providing generous subsidies to their footwear sector.

2.     Participation in International Footwear Exhibitions

The expenses incurred on participation in an international exhibition are clossal and SMEs can not afford such high expenses. We are constantly impressing upon Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, meant to promote trade abroad, to provide enhanced subsidy on participations in International Exhibitions like Riva Schuh Garda Italy, WSA Footwear Exhibition in USA, so that SME sector which is in majority in Pakistan can come up to boost the footwear exports as well as employment of labour force in Pakistan.

3.      Footwear Delegations Abroad

Delegations play an important role in promoting exports of a country and like our  practice in the past we are recommending and pursuing TDAP to send footwear delegations each to foreign countries like Turkey, Spain / Portugal, South Africa, Australia / New Zealand, etc.

4.     Organizing International Footwear Exhibition in Pakistan

Planning and organizing international footwear exhibitions in the past has proved quite helpful in increasing our footwear exports. We have therefore planned an International Footwear Exhibition in June 2010.  We are requesting Trade Development Authority of Pakistan for  allocation of necessary monetary assistance to this Association for starting the related activities.

5.    Assistance to Members

Assist members in manufacturing, marketing and export of footwear / allied commodities. To  maintain contact with Commercial Sections in our Missions Abroad for collecting information to explore possibilities for joint ventures in manufacturing footwear in Pakistan for exports abroad.
